In Memory Of

Jerry was a small-town business owner for 30 years, Township Supervisor, Board Director of Kalkaska Memorial Hospital, and United States Air Force veteran - a husband for sixty years, big brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather of seven children. He served on his local school and church Board of Directors. He volunteered with various organizations that benefited the underserved. You could find him leaving the house late at night to help a neighbor or driving across the country to help family. Though he has passed on, we honor him, the time he gave to his community, and his advocacy for children.  He believed in making sure all children were loved and felt safe, and we continue that legacy. 

Elaine was a Nana, Grandmother, Mother, Sister, Aunt, Daughter and Dear Friend. She was loved by many and passed away May 29, 2024. She held many jobs, such as working at the local movie theater, being an art teacher, and tending to college girls as an aide in her dorm. She made ginger  cookies shaped like bears, taught us to cut snowflakes, and gave away piñatas shaped like Mr and Mrs Claus for years at Christmas. Much could be said about her, but for today, She welcomed over 12 children, from babies to young adults, into her home and cared for them, in addition to her own very loved children who survive her. She was married for over 60 years to Jerry Gaultier and through the good and bad times she was always at his side. Even now, her marker stone says “They loved the children.” We are proud of the life she lived. One of her greatest lessons was to be true to yourself. Rest in peace, Grandma, we are “holding down the fort.”
